about

The Arabic word dhikr is often translated as “remembrance,” but is also a tool for mindfulness. The word dhikr comes from the tri-literal root dhal-kaf-ra, which means “to magnify, praise, to bear in mind, and be mindful.”
As the author

In Secrets of Divine Love, A. Helwa expresses "In Islamic spirituality, the practice of remembrance or chanting in the form of dhikr is not about affirming the self or experiencing spiritual ecstasy, but rather it is a tool to affirm and consistently “bring to mind and heart” the singularity and majesty of Allah. The power of intentional remembrance is that it brings your awareness to the present moment, which is where God is most intimately experienced. Remembrance is not just a return to God, it is a return to the essence of who you are.
